THE SWAN AGENCY SOTHEBY’S INTERNATIONAL REALTY SPONSORS BROADWAY ON THE ISLE TO BENEFIT CRITERION THEATRE AND ARTS CENTER

Bar Harbor - Kimberly Swan, President of The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty announced today the Company's major fundraising event for 2008, Broadway on the Isle, which will benefit the Criterion Theatre and Arts Center. 

"We are so excited about this show", said Swan.  "After contemplating several events to benefit a local non-profit, we are happy to announce that August 7, 2008 will be the event of the summer and will support the campaign to renovate this amazing community jewel.  Who doesn't love Broadway show tunes? And we are bringing in some amazing artists".
 
John McVeigh, world renowned, professional opera singer has signed on as a featured performer.  McVeigh travels the world performing and is a favorite son of Portland, Maine and a frequent guest of the Portland Symphony Orchestra.  McVeigh is also a talented jewelry designer and will take the opportunity of visiting Mount Desert Island to hold a trunk show at Pomegranate Style in Northeast Harbor the day after the concert.  See: www.johnmcveighdesigns.com.

Ellen Domingos will be directing and performing in the show.  Ellen is the very talented actor/singer currently based in Portland who was featured in PSO's Magic of Christmas show.    Domingos is a Maine native who spent many years in New York City modeling and performing and is currently writing a one woman show to be performed at the Good Theatre in Portland.  She is also the executive assistant to Kimberly Swan in southern Maine. See: www.ellendomingos.com 

Local talent will also be prominently displayed in the Broadway revue.  An open casting call is scheduled for June 21, 2008 at 11AM for those interested in securing a spot as one of the evening's performers.  "We are eagerly anticipating the casting call", said Domingos.  "We want to involve as many local people as we can to help support the Criterion in this great show.  We have all sort of opportunities available from solos to group songs". 

More information will be available soon as song lists are finalized, more artists commit and tickets go on sale.  Local restaurants will be offering Dinner Theatre reservations that assure diners are ready for the 8:00 curtain call.
